Is Cavalry really free?
Yes, Cavalry really is free for individuals — and not in a watered-down way. It's a free 2D animation software with professional features (procedural rigs, real-time viewport, data-driven sequences, etc) that you can use as much as you want, with no restrictions or payment needed. Cavalry with SSO is available via Canva Enterprise or Canva Districts account.
Do I need a Canva account to use Cavalry?
Yes. Cavalry is now brought to you by Canva, and your Canva account gives you access to Cavalry and other Canva products and features.
What happens to my existing Cavalry licence?
You'll still have access to your legacy version of Cavalry provided by Scene Group, but to receive the latest features and updates, please use Cavalry by Canva.
If you're happy with things just the way they are, then you can continue with full use of the Software you paid for until your subscription period expires.
If you bought a Cavalry Teams or Pro licence and you'd like to swap it for access to the free Cavalry by Canva, then head to your Cavalry account and follow the instructions to start your claim. Please note that refunding your subscription will remove access to Pro features in Cavalry 2.6.1 and earlier. We therefore recommend saving your files in 2.7 before making any changes to your subscription.
