Tools

Background Removal

Use AI to remove the background from a video leaving only the subject on a transparent background.

Duration

Video assets are limited to a maximum duration of 10 seconds. A yellow hazard icon will appear when a video asset exceeds this limit.

Video - Choose a video asset to remove the background from.

Model - Choose an AI model to perform the background removal.

Remove Background - Click the button to start the background removal process.

Results - See Results.

  • Playback - Use the playback to see a preview of the resulting video.
  • Background - Use the dropdown to select the style of background to use in order to scrutinise the resulting alpha channel.
  • Loupe - When enabled, a magnified window of the area under the cursor will be displayed when hovering the preview.

Add to Composition - Select a thumbnail in the Results section and then click this button to add the generated video to the Assets Window and the active Composition.

Generate Vector

Use a prompt to generate vector artwork.

Model - Choose an AI model to generate the vector artwork.

Prompt Window - Enter a prompt with instructions for the type of vector artwork to generate.

Prompt Guide Options - Use the dropdown options to add additional context to the prompt.

Generate - Click the button to start the generation process.

Results - See Results.

Add to Composition - Select a thumbnail in the Results section and then click this button to add the generated artwork to the Assets Window and the active Composition.

Image to Layers

Convert an image into separate layers and position them in 2.5d space along with a Camera. Image to Layers is a generative separation: occluded areas that aren't visible in the original image are plausibly filled in by the model rather than recovered, so separated layers may not exactly reconstruct hidden content.

Image - Choose a video asset to remove the background from.

Model - Choose an AI model to generate the layers.

Nearest Distance - Define the Position Z value to place the layer nearest to the camera.

Furthest Distance - Define the Position Z value to place the layer furthest from the camera.

Generate - Click the button to start the process.

Results - See Results.

Add to Composition - Select a thumbnail in the Results section and then click this button to add the generated artwork to the Assets Window and the active Composition.

Results

This area will be populated with thumbnail images of the completed tasks. Clicking on a thumbnail will load a larger preview. Thumbnails are filtered based on the active feature but checking Show All will show all the results from all features.

To clear a thumbnail, right click one and select Remove. A modal dialogue will appear with an option to remove both the thumbnail and the asset produced by the task.

Generated Assets

Generated assets will be saved to the Assets folder if a Project is set or, if no Project is set, in the same location of the saved Scene. If a Scene has not been saved, the asset will be saved to the Desktop. When assets are generated, the file's path is printed to the Message Bar.

AI Pass

If an AI Pass is purchased during an active Cavalry session, a restart of Cavalry will be required for the credits to be updated.
